He is working as a Professor in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Narayana Engineering College (Autonomous), Gudur, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was received B.Tech, degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from J.N.T. University, Hyderabad, A.P, India, M.Tech., in Power Electronics and Power Systems from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, A.P, India. He was received his Doctoral degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at K L (Demeed to be University), Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.

He has published 27 research articles in International and National journals and presented various papers in National and International conferences. He was filed a patent to his credit. Dr. K. P. Prasad Rao is a life member of ISTE and SIEEE (2024). His current research interests include Multiphase i.e., more than three phase systems applications in Electric Vehicle design and its Control techniques. He has published 4 text books in his credit.
